Today, SDSC announced the appointment of Michael L. Norman to the position of interim director. Norman succeeds Francine Berman, who announced plans in April to join the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as vice president of research.

New "Green" Datacenter Facility

UCSD has committed significant resources, including an initial 225 racks and 1.5 Megawatts for a minimum of 6 years, to meet the burgeoning systemwide datacenter needs. The service was designed in partnership with representatives from several UC campuses and the UC Office of the President and is available now.
